R.I.P IV

Carl is again hosting his RIP challenge, a chance to pick out some of the darker books lurking in my TBR pile. The challenge runs from September 1st till October 31st. As always different levels of participation are available, I will be completing Peril the First, to read 4 books of a gothic nature. I'll also participate in Short Story Sunday each week.
My Pool:
Ray Bradbury, The Halloween Tree (audiobook)
M.G Lewis, The Monk
Angela Carter, Nights at the Circus
Matthew Pearl, The Dante Club
Anonymous, The Book with No Name
L.J Smith, Night World (Vol 1)
Edith Wharton, The Ghost Feeler
Scott Westerfeld, The Secret Hour

I'll search out some graphic novels and short story collections as well over next two months

Congrats on being the first one to sign up and post about it! I am so very excited about the challenge this year. After Once Upon a Time III ended up being so interrupted for me, because of multiple life issues, I am needing this one to cleanse the palate. Plus it is my favorite of the challenges that I host.

You have an interesting pool there. I have The Monk on my TBR pile as well. I've read some of it, though not much, and what I read was very interesting.

I'm so excited about this challenge! You have some great looking books in your pile, especially Nights at the Circus and The Book with No Name. I am doing the LJ Smith Challenge this year and am really looking forward to starting her Vampire books.

If you're looking for an interesting short story, you might consider Pride and Prometheus by John Kessel. I read it a few weeks ago but wanted to reread Frankenstein before I posted a review :)

The Halloween tree sounds creepy - I'm imagining people hanging from it.

This has got to be my favorite challenge of all!! I love your list. I forgot all about LJ Smith when I made up my list. I've got a few of those to read. Hmm....looks like a little editing is in store!!
