Glad I was, because I loved it. :)Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00653383372182667361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684053199404585788.post-61195106071240353812009-04-22T22:21:00.000-07:002009-04-22T22:21:00.000-07:00Thanks for the response, Katrina. I have to confess that I was more curious about the novel's point of view than I might be otherwise because a few of the negative reviews I've seen of the work basically savage the author for not knowing anything about Latin America. Those who love the book, on the other hand, don't address that point at all. Anyway, cheers!Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01746599416342846897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684053199404585788.post-22949632332755478842009-04-22T09:24:00.000-07:002009-04-22T09:24:00.000-07:00I chose this book just because it was on my shelf ...I chose this book just because it was on my shelf and it said it was set in Latin America. As I didn't know anything about it other than that people had enjoyed it I gave it a read. I do agree that it isn't typical at all of Latin American reads and I wouldn't put it with that genre of fiction in the future.<br />One of those, you don't know till you try scenarioskatrinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05647610491252326847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684053199404585788.post-14404753293618015472009-04-20T17:14:00.000-07:002009-04-20T17:14:00.000-07:00I realize this book has its admirers, Katrina, but...I realize this book has its admirers, Katrina, but is there really anything "Latin American" about it other than its setting? I'm not critiquing your choice so much as wondering why you chose this particular book for this particular challenge. Would be interested to hear your thoughts!Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01746599416342846897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684053199404585788.post-28667142576061132112009-04-19T11:34:00.000-07:002009-04-19T11:34:00.000-07:00Mine is also due to the fact i can't say no - at b...Mine is also due to the fact i can't say no - at bookcrossing meetings i generally take ang go home with the biggest pilekatrinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05647610491252326847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684053199404585788.post-52074274909114934152009-04-19T11:03:00.000-07:002009-04-19T11:03:00.000-07:00This sounds interesting.
